Amilkar Vazquez

Multi-Percussionist & Art Producer.

Born in Havana, Cuba. In a family environment really Cuban musicians and artists that today form important part of their personal wealth. Since childhood music and artistes showed attitudes that would later develop in schools and conservatories.

Study carried:

- Fernando Cañisel Conservatory (elementary level
percussion). prof. Enildo Rasúa.
- Ignacio Cervantes Conservatory (Cuban Percusion)
- UNEAC: Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
(Artistic Director of Music and Music Production).

He has collaborated on many projects and meetings in the course of his career: bands, orchestras, groups, musicals, concerts, festivals, radio and tv.etc .. Has collaborated with musicians such as Demetrio Muníz, Pancho Céspedes, Manuel Valera Quintet, Pucho Lópes, Malena Burke, Nuviolas Sisters, Rey Crespo, Mario Dali among others.
In 1998 he completed studies of production and artistic direction of musicals in the UNEAC (National Union of Artists and Writers of Cuba), where parallel begins as artistic producer and programmer of the Jazz-Club "La Zorra y el Cuervo."
During this period worked and programmed with prestigious musicians as Gonzalo Rubalcaba, George Benson, Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Danilo Perez, Ximo Tebar, Chano Domínguez, Buena Vista Social Club, Orlando "Cachaito", José Luis Quintana (Changuito), Tata Güines, Ernán López Nussa, Clave y Guaguanco, Bobby Carcasses, J. Luis Chicoy, Frank Emilio Flynn, David Sanchez and Steve Colerman among others.
He currently resides in Spain where she continued to work with groups, performans, recordings, teaching, lectures, events and festivals, etc ...
Today has taken the path of your project, "Havana Jazz Combo", which presents festivals, jazz halls and events.
